Building a terrace: where to start
The terrace is the foundation of the whole outdoor space. Three decisions worth making in the right order: location, base, decking.

Location and size
What matters most is the direction of the sun and privacy: where you will sit in the evening, what the neighbours will see. The size is set by function rather than by square metres: the table area, the walkways, room for loungers.
The base
Terraces are not laid straight onto the ground. They need a base: point foundations or adjustable pedestals. We choose the option to suit the plot during the free measurements.
Decking and the next steps
Wood is natural but needs care every year; composite (WPC) needs none. If you are planning a pergola later, say so straight away: we will allow for the column positions and the fixings while the terrace is being built.
